Anxiety is rough for everyone. Unfortunately, you may be unable to avoid it in certain circumstances. The most important thing you can do for your own mental health is to find out what triggers your anxiety. Then, you can rely on positive affirmations for anxiety and the power of your mind to help carry you through any sort of flare-up.

1. This Is Temporary

Everything is temporary, even the negative feelings, and remembering that is one of the best courses of action you can take. Anxiety symptoms could compile into a panic attack, but the good news is that a panic attack will be over in around ten minutes, meaning you won’t have to endure the most intense symptoms for very long. Remind yourself that the discomfort you’re feeling won’t last forever, and you’ll be able to power through it.

2. I Am Strong

Think of everything you’ve already weathered through. You’ve probably been in more difficult situations than this one, and you’ve probably come out on top of them. Now is the time to use your positive affirmations for anxiety and prove to yourself that you are strong. With your strength, you can accomplish just about anything.

3. This Has Been Done Before

If you’re feeling anxious about a task or assignment, just remember that it’s been done before. Whether it’s something you’ve tackled before that still brings you anxiety or something totally new, someone before you has done it, and you won’t be the last one to do something similar. Knowing that you or other people have gotten through it just fine before should motivate you to keep pushing forward without as many worries.

4. I Am Enough

You will always be enough for the people who love you. You don’t have to do anything special to be deserving of that love, either. Love should be given freely, and people love you just as you love them. To them, you will always be enough — even when you don’t feel like it.

5. The Past Is Behind Me

Try not to get caught up in the mistakes you may have made in the past. You learned and grew from them and can do nothing to change them now. Furthermore, your experiences have made you the person that you are today. Right now, you should stay in the present and look forward to all the opportunities you have yet to experience.

6. I Am Intelligent

One day, you may find yourself in a situation where you think you’re not smart enough to handle something. You are more intelligent than you think — it might just be your confidence that needs some work.

Something as small as power posing can help you boost your confidence when you need it most. You may know what you’re talking about, but if you’re afraid to communicate it, nobody else will know. You can power pose as a way to psych yourself up to speak to someone in a stressful or anxiety-inducing situation.

7. I Am Doing My Best

As long as you always give your best effort, you have nothing to be ashamed of. In some cases, you may wonder why you’re feeling anxious over something seemingly so small, but what’s small to you might be a big deal to your mind and body.

Anxiety disorders present symptoms in several ways. If you’re one of the folks who have irregular sleep patterns as a result of your anxiety, you may find it difficult to concentrate on your work. Still, you should remind yourself that you’re doing the very best you can with what you have — and that alone is something to be proud of.

8. One Step at a Time

Rome wasn’t built in a day, so you shouldn’t expect everything in your life to fall into place at once. One of the best positive affirmations for anxiety is telling yourself that things take time. Just take one day at a time and do your best. Over time, the puzzle of your life will begin to piece itself together. In the end, you might even wonder what you had to be worried about in the first place.

9. I Am in Charge

You may not be in charge of everything in your life, but you can control your body and how you respond to certain situations. In that way, you are in control and are the master of your own life. Even in situations you can’t control, taking charge of what you can influence can help you gain a new outlook or open doors you didn’t know were there.

10. I Am Loved

Above all, you must remember in your moment of fear and panic that you are loved. Remember that there are people who love you unconditionally. Having a strong support system can have beneficial effects on your physical and mental state, including lower blood pressure and better coping skills. Doing what you can to remind yourself of those people in the hard times can help you excel and squash any anxiety you might feel.

Rely on Positive Affirmations for Anxiety

While it isn’t always a foolproof method, using positive affirmations for anxiety can give you a small boost of self-confidence and help you get through the day when you may think it’s impossible otherwise. If your anxiety becomes too frequent or concerning, talk to your doctor about other methods that would help work for you. When you just need an extra boost, positive affirmation might work wonders on your mindset.
