Frizziness can ruin even the best hair days. Who wants that? Frizzy hair means your hair needs more moisture or less. On a humid or wet day, your hair will try to gain water from the air and appear more frizzy than usual. Learn some tricks on how to get rid of your frizzy hair and train your locks to cooperate with you.

1. Use Home Remedies

Treat your locks with home remedies to restore moisture without leaving your house. These home remedies can make your hair less frizzy by giving it the moistness it needs. You can use coconut oil, avocado, apple cider vinegar, argan oil or egg to moisten your hair.

You can make a hair mask with one avocado, a couple of coconut oil teaspoons or just two eggs. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes or longer and wash it out.

2. Microfiber Hair Towel

Wrapping your hair in a cotton towel when you get out of the shower can contribute to your frizz. Cotton towels can rough up your cuticle and cause it to frizz. Microfiber towels dry your hair faster and help it retain moisture for healthier and shinier hair.

You can use a cotton shirt if you don’t have a microfiber towel. Try not to rub your hair with force when you’re d–gently scrunch it inside the microfiber towel or shirt. Turning the water temperature down in the shower can also help fight frizz.

3. Silk or Satin Pillow Case

Much like cotton towels, cotton pillowcases can contribute to frizzy hair. Consider getting a silk or satin pillowcase to sleep on. They have many benefits, from helping your skin absorb your moisturizer to minimizing frizzy hair.

Satin is a silk alternative that has almost all the same benefits. Sleeping on satin feels cool against your skin and can reduce dryness in your hair and skin. These pillowcases will have you looking forward to going to bed before you know it. Satin or silk scrunchies can also reduce damage to your locks.

4. Moisturizing Hair Products

The products you use on your hair matter. Create a routine that works best for you and strategize your hair health. Moisturizing shampoos and conditioners can reduce the dryness of your hair and help keep it healthy. Hydrating and smoothing formulas can help keep your hair moisturized and healthy.

Serums are excellent for taming frizz and making your hair look shiny and smooth. Conditioner helps to lock in the natural oils and moisture in your strands, so ensure you’re using conditioner after you wash your hair. Conditioning hair masks can bring your hair back to life after using too much heat during styling or bleaching your hair.

Products with alcohol dry out your locks and can create more frizz for your hair. Ensure that you use a heat protectant whenever you use hot tools on your hair. Try to reduce the heat you apply by letting your hair air dry when possible. If you have wavy or curly hair, use a diffuser when you dry your hair to reduce frizz and add some bounce to your curls.
