If you’ve got a busy schedule — between work and running a household — figuring out what’s for dinner every night seems like an impossible task. Meal kits can be a great solution to this problem. They deliver ready-to-cook food right to your door, and you don’t have to waste time going shopping.

Unfortunately, though, meal kits can be quite costly. Those that include organic ingredients and diet-friendly meals can cost over $10.00 per serving.

Luckily, EveryPlate is one of the most affordable meal kit delivery services. Plus, they’re kid-friendly and cost less than half of what other meal kit delivery companies offer.

How Much Is EveryPlate?

Upon signing up for a subscription to EveryPlate, the cost will depend on your plan. Each plan serves a different number of people. However, the price of EveryPlate starts at $4.99 per serving, plus $8.99 for shipping.

Here’s an overview of what costs to expect when looking at meal plans.

Two-person meal plans:

  • Three meals per week: $35.34 + $8.99 shipping
  • Four meals per week: $43.92 + $8.99 shipping
  • Five meals per week: $52.90 + $8.99 shipping

Four-person meal plans:

  • Three meals per week: $59.88 + $8.99 shipping
  • Four meals per week: $79.84 + $8.99 shipping
  • Five meals per week: $99.80 + $8.99 shipping

What Meals Does EveryPlate Offer?

EveryPlate offers dishes served with mostly comfort foods. You can expect a variety of meats, potatoes and rice or veggies.

Most of the meals are kid-friendly offerings. Yet, you may see a few vegetarian options if you’re looking for healthier foods. However, that’s not the main focus with EveryPlate.

While EveryPlate switches the menu each week, here are the types of meals you can expect:

  • Griddled Onion Burgers
  • Crispy Buffalo Ranch Chicken
  • Sweet Chili Pork Tacos
  • Roasted Garlic Dijon Butter Steak
  • Cajun Chicken Sausage Penne

If you have food allergies, EveryPlate’s service is not for you. You can only find the allergens on their recipe cards after opening your delivery box.

How EveryPlate Works

EveryPlate is a meal kit service that offers a recurring subscription. Once you sign up, you agree to receive meal kits every week.

EveryPlate will ask you for your credit card information, and you’ll continue to pay for the service until you decide to cancel.

Here’s how EveryPlate works upon signing up:

  • Choose your meal plan: Personalize your meal plan for how many people you need to feed. You also have the option to choose vegetarian meals if desired.
  • Set up your delivery day: You’ll have the option to choose different delivery days. Some subscribers prefer the deliveries to occur at the beginning of the week or midweek.
  • Select your meals for the upcoming week: Once you log your preferences, EveryPlate will choose your meals for you. Or, you can log in to your account and switch out meals to your liking.
  • Manage your deliveries: Feel free to skip weeks or change the menu for upcoming deliveries. You can make all of these changes directly from your EveryPlate account.

Is EveryPlate Worth Every Penny?

The service is worth it for how much EveryPlate costs, especially if you need a budget-friendly meal kit. While the recipes can seem basic, that’s what you can expect with a low-cost meal kit delivery service.

Even though the meals come with inexpensive recipes, the food is good overall. They may not be extremely healthy. However, they’ll satisfy your hunger with ample portion sizes.

Plus, if you enjoy comfort foods and have kids, this meal kit delivery service is right for you.
